The basic principle of a vertical steam sterilizer for medical waste is to use high-temperature, high-pressure steam to kill pathogenic microorganisms in medical waste, thus eliminating its potential infectious hazards. This sterilizer is suitable for treating infectious and sharps waste listed in the "Medical Waste Classification Catalogue" and the "National Hazardous Waste List." It is not suitable for treating pharmaceutical waste, chemical waste, or pathological waste.
This system employs a fully automatic PLC electrical control system, featuring both an automatic processing mode and a manual mode. The control system is equipped with a touchscreen display, allowing real-time operation of all equipment modules and display of equipment status. The PLC control system automatically controls the sterilization temperature and time, monitoring the entire process to meet relevant WHO standards and HJ 276—2021 requirements.

Collected medical waste is fed into the sterilizer. The shredding system breaks waste into particles. A pre-vacuum method purges air, followed by high-temperature, high-pressure saturated steam. After treatment, a second vacuum process purges remaining air. The sterilized waste is reduced in volume and weight, effectively killing pathogens for municipal disposal.
